Application of iSCAT Hyperspectral Microscopy to Single-Particle Scattering and Composition Analysis of Arctic Aerosols (iSE-ARCTIC)
IADC_id: 816
active
Call year: 2026
Subject area:
RIS - Project:
Principal investigator:
Project description:
The objective of this study is to optimize the application of iSCAT microscopy for the fast characterization of aerosol single particle scattering coefficient at nano- and microscale and its link to aerosol composition and source regions. • Collection of ambient aerosol samples representative of aerosol population dominated by marine emissions, long-range transported fires, anthropogenic emissions • Singe-particle scattering cross-sections measurements and identification of the chemical composition.
National/International Cooperation:
The present project will be run in collaboration with the Joint research Center of the European Commission in Ispra (Italy). Collaboration with research groups involved in in-situ aerosol measurements at Gruvebadet (CNR, University of Florence, University of Milan) will be essential for data interpretation.
