The CNR-ISSIA Field and Interaction Robotics research group will carry out a field polar robotics training in the framework of the Excellabust (EU Horizon2020) project. In particular, a week will be devoted to exchange multi-disciplinary experience and know-how between Excellabust team and the researchers of the Italian and other international research stations in Ny-Ålesund. These frontal lectures will be organized in three tracks: i) marine robotics (Excellabust researchers); ii) Italian Arctic research (other Italian researchers), with the presentation of the Italian Arctic research facilities and activities; iii) International Arctic research, as ii) held by personnel of other research stations. Moreover, sensing and sampling missions will performed by operating the CNR PROTEUS USSV (Unmanned Semi-Submersible Vehicle) from the Teisten vessel in the proximity of Kronebreen/Blomstrandbreen glaciers. Each sampling mission will be followed by the analysis of collected environmental data and vehicle telemetry as well as logistic/operational aspects in order to improve further planning and performance. The plan is to have two daily missions, with groups of 3/4 people: so attendants will have one day at sea and one day of data analysis in the station. The activity will be performed in cooperation with the University of Zagreb, the University of Girona and the University of Limerick.
